Keith Olbermann is a horrible douchebag, and a terrible way to introduce any subject.

That said, I am for gay marriage, polygamy, etc.. Everybody seems to be dancing around the real issue as to why this passed. Minorities. If it were only white people voting, it would have been shot down easily. Blacks and Hispanics are socially "conservative". They are the main reason for this. You would think these recently oppressed groups would have more sympathy to currently oppressed groups.. If it weren't for white progressives, gay people wouldn't have any rights.

It is funny that most liberals cry for increased democracy, diversity, and minority participation in politics. Then when they get this all-inclusive participation, like on prop 8, they demand a constitutional override of the results, as applied by a bunch of old white guys on the judiciary.

Again, Olberman is a charlatan.

I'd say that minority subgroups are often primarily or sometimes even -only- concerned with their particular issue when voting. They're unified only in that they are minorities, not in that they agree with each other subgroup's plight. To me, on the surface this unification seems to be the only reason that they democratic party fields enough votes to compete.

I voted no on 8, and I completley agree with what that guy is saying, i've been saying the same for years. I cheered with the California Supreme Court ruled that our constitution doesn't prohibit marriage to a man and a woman. Its prejudicial to make a law about something like that, and the only reason anyone can give as to why their against gay marriage is to point to their fucking bible.

i dont agree with it but who am i to sit here and say what other people can and cannot do in a free country.. i have no control over other people's actions and i shouldn't have any..

people should be able to do what they want and make certain decisions (to some extent within the law)

a lot of people dont want gay marriage to be allowed (as we've seen with prop 8) but on the same note you have gay people living in states that allow gay marriage filing lawsuits against people who refuse to marry them because it goes against something they have devoted their life to believing in...

let gay people do whatever they want.. its their decision.. but dont go around playing the hate card and calling up lawyers when a person who doesnt agree with it refuses to marry you in his church..
